Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Laptop is new. After power on the Laptop connects with the Wi-Fi network normally (either Wi-Fi was left ON during the previous session or it was disabled in the previous session and enabled again by clicking 'Globe' icon in the system tray). This connection was set during initial set-up. On clicking the Wi-Fi icon in system tray, the message shows all available networks as well as this connected network. After about 30 minutes, the Wi-Fi connection is dropped and I see the 'Globe' icon (indicating that the laptop is not connected to any network). Clicking on the 'Globe' icon, the slide-up message initially shows the old display (i.e. Connected network and Available networks) but changes to 'No Network Available'. Disabling / Enabling the connection via the same slide-up message box does not change anything. The only option at this point is to Restart the laptop. After Restart the Wi-Fi is connected by itself (as it was ON in the previous session) and then stays on here onwards.

Any fix to this problem would be appreciated.

@Sunil-T Welcome to HP Community!

I understand that Wifi disconnects.

Here's a guided troubleshooter that will help fix this issue: Click here

Try these steps:

Go to Device manager > select the WIFI drivers under network adapter> Right click go to properties  > Under properties go to Power Management Tab> Uncheck  "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power".

If issue persists, continue with the below steps:

  • If your computer has a wireless key or button on or near the keyboard and the wireless activity light is off or amber in color, then press the key or button to enable your wireless adapter. This key might be the F10 key, F12 key or labeled with a symbol of an airplane.

  • If wireless activity comes on or the activity light turns blue, you have enabled wireless on your system. Try connecting to the Internet again. If problems persist, continue using these steps.

Thanks for reply.

For some reason the site "http://hp.dezide.com/ts/start.jsp?guide=wirelessconnection.net&section=social" does not open.  I tried couple of days but I am getting the same response back.

Is there any other URL that can connect me to the link you want me to try out...

Thanks.

@Sunil-T

I understand your concerns.

Please perform the system restore and check.

1. Shutdown the computer.

2. Turn the computer back on again and repeatedly tap on the ESC until a Startup menu appears.

3. Press F11 once for System Recovery.

4. Choose the Keyboard Layout.

5. Click on Troubleshoot.

6. Go to Recovery Manager and click on System Restore.

7. Choose a Restore point or a Restore date when the computer was working fine.

8. Click on OK to initialize the System Restore.

Have a nice day!!
