Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

I've been having this problem for the past few days where websites / videos take an age to load on my Laptop, games don't run, but everything on every other device is fine. I've tried forgetting the network and reconnecting, I've changed my DNS address and alternate DNS address, I've disabled and enabled my network adapter and nothing is working. Does anyone have any idea how I can fix this?

  • Scan your PC for threats, viruses, malware...

.... Run the free ESET Online Scanner >> http://download.eset.com/special/eos/esetonlinescanner_enu.exe

Scan your PC for viruses, threats and unwanted/unsafe applications - remove if anything found.

.... Run AdwCleaner >>https://www.malwarebytes.com/adwcleaner/

.... Run Kaspersky TDSS Killer >> http://media.kaspersky.com/utilities/VirusUtilities/EN/tdsskiller.exe

Let me know in details if they found something and what it was....

Laptop: 10.1 Mbps download (I can tell you now it isn't that because this page took literally 4 minutes to load)

iPhone: 70.2 Mbps download.

I've just finished both quick scans and both full scans, neither of which found anything. I'm not sure if this is good news or bad news? At this point I just need a diagnosis really, so I can actually try rectify the problem

My speed on laptop has now gone down to below 1 Mpbs, and stayed at 70.3 on my iPhone. Do you have any other ideas why this could be?

There could be tons of reasons which is hard for me to diagnosie remotely if I get no real information. So far I only understood that you have no viruses and that the speed is indeed slow. So far you haven't mentioned it but, please follow all the steps in the HP guided troubleshooter - link posted above.

Follow all the steps there and let me know if any improvement.

You may also post to me some log file so that I see what apps start along with your PC

Download Autoruns (from Microsoft) from this URL => http://live.sysinternals.com/autoruns.exe

Information about the product => http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb963902.aspx

- Save the file on your Desktop

- Run Microsoft Autoruns  with Administrator rights (right click -> Run as Administrator).

Agree with the standard license agreement from Microsoft.

- Once Autoruns is started, it will need some seconds (could be a minute) to gather the snapshot, wait for it.

Once it is ready, you will see the word Ready in the lower left side.

  • Click on Options

Make sure that only the following are selected:

  • Hide Empty Locations
  • Hide Windows Entries

- Click on  Rescan button  or  click on File -> Refresh to rescan the system.

It will need some seconds (could be a minute) to gather the snapshot, wait for it.

Once it is ready, you will see the word Ready in the lower left side.

- Finally, click on File -> Save

Save the snapshot on the desktop in .TXT file

Open the newly created TXT log file.

Mark and Select all of the text (e.g. CTR+A), copy it and

visit http://pastebin.com/  to paste it there

Create new paste and give me the URL to see the log file.

Looking forward to your reply.
