WiFi connecting & scan

Welcome @SPY_FOX

I will do my absolute best to help you come to a resolution with the Wifi on your HP Notebook - 15-ac041ne. When we have come to a resolution, please share what worked for you with others by marking this post as an Accepted Solution.

My first suggestion would be to use the Troubleshooting Wireless Network and Internet Tool. At the bottom it will ask you questions to help narrow down the issue.

Do you have anything else connected to the WiFi?

Have you tried to change the wireless channel band?

Have you tried to Restore the BIOS

Have you done your Windows updates?

Does the Wifi work better if you go to Safe Mode with Networking?

Have you tried to use the Hardware test in the HP Support Assistant?

Have you tried to do your HP Support Assistant Updates? If not, here is a link to the HP Support Assistant if you need it. Just download and run the application and it will help with the software and drivers on your system that need updating.

Resetting the firmware settings on your router and re-establishing connections for all the devices that use the router is a good way to start over and fix many types of wireless related issues.

Please also update the firmware dedicated to the router. For the best way to do so, please refer to the User Guide that came with your router. It is a good idea to connect the computer directly to the router using its network cable when doing the firmware update.

You can find the generalized steps to all of the troubleshooting recommendations above in the Troubleshooting Wireless Network and Internet document.

Have you uninstalled the driver in the Device Manager?

Please try to uninstall the driver in the Device Manager using the following steps:

  • Go to the Device Manager.
  • Expand Network Adapters.
  • Right click on all of the Network Adapters individually.
  • Click Uninstall.
  • Restart the Notebook twice.

If you require further assistance, I would be happy to help. Please make sure that you have done each step (including the ones in the troubleshooting document) in order and provide the detailed results of the steps.

If you would like to show your appreciation for my efforts today, please take a second to click the Thumbs Up button below.

I look forward to hearing your response.

I am glad that you joined in!
Have a great day! Smiley Happy
