HP ENVY x360 15.6 inch 2-in-1 Laptop PC 15-ew1000 (794C0AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

Read the previous thread on the failure to connect to WiFi.

I have had the same problem, no WiFi detected, all other computers, TV's, cell phones, tablets, security cameras etc. are connected.

Spent several hours per day for 3 or 5 days with HP support, unresolved.

#1 We can't download and update BIOS, drivers etc. if we can't connect.

Am now waiting for the shipping box to arrive to send it back for repair.

Here is everything that happened that I remember and am including in the note to be enclosed with the computer.

WiFi Failing to connect

Tried to resolve by running both Microsoft Windows and HP built in software to check for hardware or software faults

Ran Windows restore to several prior system updates, still failed to connect.

Called HP Tech support, signed up for software tech support.

Worked for hours on the phone with different tech person every time I called, trying many solutions such as

Replace/update WiFi drivers and others that did not work.

Tried Recover, keeping my data but wiping out non-Windows or HP software.

Reset Bios to original setting etc.

Last tech said I had to reinstall Windows

Had me download Windows on a flash drive on another computer.

Had me reformat the partition on my SSD to make it ready to reinstall Windows

Next he had me insert the flash drive and restart the computer to begin the Windows install.

Windows install started, and came to an instruction to connect to the internet.

Still no internet connection, so the install halted.

Called Tech support back and received instructions that the computer would need to be shipped to HP repair to replace the WiFi card or ?

Request that this unit be repaired or replaced with a new fully functional unit, to include the Windows Pro software that was installed.

Shipped back to repair facility. No solutions that were attempted with the HP telephone techs worked and ended with my computer with a reformated SSD and unable to connect to internet to re-install windows. None of the at least 4 or 5 techs were able to help after signing up and paying $60 for their services. Will be cancelling the contract. After seeing others post on here with the same issue with the WiFi connection, there is apparently a fault that has not been resolved by HP.

Received an email from HP today that my computer was received 2/12/24 and i could expect to received it back about 3/4/24. 3 weeks seems like a long time to service a computer.
