Microsoft Windows 11

Model: HP Laptop 14s-dq5009na (A20JKEA)

- My laptop is less than one month old and it keeps losing the wifi emblem.

- I have gone through numerous boards, most advising to check the "power management" tab on driver settings.

- I do not have this option when I click on the realtek driver.

- I have manually reset the laptop fully and I have done network resets.

- The problem seems to occur when the laptop goes into sleep. I have changed the setting so it doesn't turn the screen off.

However, I am unsure yet whether this will solve the problem.

Please advise.

The only suggestion I can offer would be to update the RTL8821CE Wi-Fi card driver to the latest version HP has for that model Wi-Fi adapter:

2024.10.229.1

The option to prevent the network (Realtek driver) from powering down during sleep is missing because your system is in modern standby.  This is a driver problem that possibly could be fixed. If the driver link Paul provided does not help then try:

1 - Look in BIOS setup and see if sleep can be set to s3 instead of s0.   if so, the the Realtek device can be told not to power down in sleep mode.  If not, then this article explains how to disable it. If you decide to try disabling using any of the methods explained, be sure to set a restore point in Windows to make it easy to return to s0 state.

2 - See if the sleep diagnostics can identify the problem.

Windows sleep diagnostics are shown here

Question:  Was the system working OK when you first powered it?  ie: before any windows updates?
