HP Notebook - 15-ay105ne
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi, I am using HP Notebook i5 7th Gen. After a recent windows update my wifi connection is continuously fluctuating and disconnecting. All other devices connected with the same wifi are working fine. I have done the following troubleshoot;

- Disabled the Power Off option for the adapter

- Reset the TCP/IP settings

- reset the winsock catalogue

- Uninstalled and reinstalled the wifi drivers

- Installed the old drivers

After doing all the above troubleshoot, problem is still there. I am unable to do the online meetings or work from home as I am unable to connect with office server due to slow connectivity. Wifi adapter is Realtek RTL8723BE 802.11 bgn Wi-Fi Adapter.

Hi:

You have two options as I see it...

1. Purchase a dual band USB adapter which will provide greater Wi-Fi speeds since you will be able to connect to the 5.0 GHz Wi-Fi band where you can't now.

2. Replace the internal  Realtek RTL8723BE wifi adapter with this dual band AC model:

Realtek RTL8821CE 802.11 ac 1x1 Wi-Fi + Bluetooth 4.2 Combo Adapter (MU-MIMO supported) HP part # L17365-005.

The card has a maximum throughput of 433 MBPS on the 5.0 GHz Wi-Fi band with an AC router and an excellent signal.

Below is the link to the service manual where you can find the Wi-Fi card removal and replacement procedure:
