HP BC408tx
Microsoft Windows 11

Hi Guys,

I have a HP Pavilion - 15 - bc408tx. I have updated to windows 11 few months back. Recently, i have started facing issues with wireless network. Wifi keeps on disconnecting frequently and often cannot connect to my network or just cannot find any available network and sometimes the wifi adapter disappears altogether. I have tried updating the wifi driver and also uninstalling and resinstalling but nothing seems to work. My wifi adapter is "Realtek RTL8822BE 802.11ac PCIe Adapter". I can see that the driver version "2024.0.8.108" is quite old (10-07-2019) but there does not seem to be any updated drivers on Realtek or HP website.

This seems like a known issue with upgrading to windows 11, however any help is much appreciated. Thanks !!

Hi:

This is the latest driver for the RTL8822BE Wi-Fi adapter:

2024.10.227.2    08/18/2022

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp142501-143000/sp142614.exe

It is good for both W10 and W11.

Hi Paul, Thanks for your reply.

I installed the drivers you provided, however issue is still persisting for me. Frequent disconnections and then not being able to connect to my network. Do you think there could be some other reason, apart from wifi drivers, for this issue ?? I have already ran a Component check on Wifi Module and it passed.

You're very welcome.

Sorry that the driver update didn't help.

That is really all I can do to help as far as that model Wi-Fi card is concerned.

There are dozens of posts regarding the poor reliability of the Realtek RTL8822BE and CE Wi-Fi adapters.

Unless you are willing and able to replace the Wi-Fi card with a different model, you will probably have to resort to using a USB Wi-Fi adapter.

This upgrade should work in your notebook.

Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX200 ax 2×2 + Bluetooth 5.0 MU-MIMO M.2 2230 non-vPro   HP part # L35282-005.

You should be able to find this model Wi-Fi card on eBay.  Search by the HP part number.

Below is the link to the service manual, where you can find the Wi-Fi card removal and replacement procedure.

You have to be extremely careful when removing and reattaching the thin and delicate Wi-Fi antenna wires to the card.
