Realtek rtl8852be Wi-Fi 6 802.11ax PCIe adapter

The intermittence you experienced with 802.11ax enabled on your laptop may be due to compatibility issues between the laptop’s WiFi 6 (802.11ax) technology and the standard of your router, which seems not to support 802.11ax. There are some common reasons why this happens:

Protocol incompatibility: When WiFi 6 (802.11ax) is enabled on the laptop, it’s possible that the laptop attempts to connect to the router using advanced 802.11ax features that the router doesn’t support, which can cause disconnections or instability. Although WiFi standards are generally backwards compatible, some older routers or routers with outdated firmware may not handle WiFi 6 devices well.

Firmware issues in the router: Some routers may experience instability or connection failures when they try to negotiate with devices that use newer standards. In such cases, updating the router’s firmware can help resolve compatibility issues.

Power-saving settings on the laptop: WiFi 6 devices often implement power-saving features, such as Target Wake Time (TWT), which can create conflicts with routers that don’t support these technologies. This may cause the laptop to disconnect when it tries to enter power-saving mode with the router.

Network interference: Some routers may experience interference when WiFi 6 devices try to connect to a busy network or a network that’s configured only for previous standards. This occurs especially in very congested networks or in areas with many nearby WiFi networks.

Check if your modem/router is compatible with 802.11ax. My modem/router at my house in Chile is not compatible, and this causes intermittent issues with Wi-Fi, but the one at my house in Japan is compatible, and I don’t have any compatibility issues there.

I know it should automatically connect to the most optimal option, but it seems that in this case, that’s not happening with the Realtek RTL8852BE WiFi 6 802.11ax PCIe adapter.

The only suggestion I can offer would be to update the Realtek rtl8852be driver to the latest version HP has.
