Wifi is disabled by hardware switch in ubuntu

HP Pavilion 15-ab032tx
Linux

I dual booted the system and now I am using ubuntu with windows. In windows, wifi is working fine but in ubuntu 14.04,  I can't enable wifi and it shows that "wifi is disabled by hardware switch". Is there a switch which I have to enable? If not, how can I resolve the issue?

Wifi is disabled by hardware switch in ubuntu

@HP_user10

Hello;

Allow me to welcome you to the HP forums!

Sorry, but there are no Linux drivers for the hardware switch that controls the WiFi -- which is why it will work in Windows (where there is a driver for the switch) but not in Linux.

Laptops work poorly in Linux distros -- due entirely to the lack of specialized Linux drivers for the hardware they contain.
