Hi Team,

The wifi seems to not working since yesterday.

I have tried numerous software fixes including installing drivers again, resetting the network settings , restarting post every action but nothing seems to work.

I also notice that the wifi led is orange and isn't changing the color to white or blue which it should.

Please help me in fixing this issue.

Due to ongoing issues with covid 19 I am not able to take it to service center as well.

Thanks,

Anurag

Hi, @anurag2708

The parts list for your notebook indicates that it comes with a Mediatek MT7630E 802.11bgn Wi-Fi and Mediatek Bluetooth 4.0 WLAN adapter

http://partsurfer.hp.com/Search.aspx?searchText=F2C07PA

That is a common problem with that model wifi/bluetooth adapter, and the newer builds of W10, and normally, the only fix is to upgrade the wifi card.

I'm very surprised the bluetooth hasn't disappeared yet.

If your notebook has two antenna cables attached to the Mediatek wifi card, if you want to upgrade the wifi card, you can replace it with this model...

Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 802.11 ac 2x2 WiFi + BT 4.0    HP Part # 710661-001

You should be able to find the card on Amazon or eBay.

Search by the HP part number, not the model of the wifi card.

Below is the link to the service manual, where you can find the wifi card removal and replacement procedure.

http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c04439615

If you want to try something right now, you can try removing and firmly reseating the wifi adapter.

Sometimes the contacts get oxidized and the electrical contact is broken.

Leave the antenna cables connected to the wifi card to facilitate an easy reinstallation.
