Hi anyone who can help me, I have a HP Laptop that I am having problems with, basically when laptop is turned on it using up all the wifi and nobody else can use the internet or its very slow. Did contact my ISP (TGP) and they were able to work out that it was my laptop using up all the internet by disconnecting devices one by one and seeing Speedtesting. Only when my laptop was on and no other devices connected  they could see it was my laptop using a lot of data and slowing router speed. Can anyone help with some advice Pls.

Hi! @PEZZA5,

Check if anything is getting downloaded on the PC.

Once you are at the windows desktop In the search window type resource monitor and open the resource monitor and look into the network section. It should show each process and how much bandwidth each application is using and where it is going. Once you find the application close the application or uninstall the application from the PC.

Try the steps recommended below.

Click on Start (The Windows button)
Select “Settings”
Select “Network & Internet”
Select WiFi
Select Advanced Options
Toggle “Metered Connection” to on
Restart your computer to stop any current naughty activity

Also, Try updating the wireless drivers and BIOS on the PC to the latest version from the links below.

Update the BIOS using this link. Click Here

Also, update the wireless drivers using this link. Click Here

Note: Before uninstalling the wireless drivers make sure the PC is connected with an ethernet connection.

Hope this answers your query!

Have a great day! 🙂
