My taskbar is showing a desktop, Ethernet cable, and a red X. Also, my wifi driver is completely none existent. It was working before, but I really can’t use an Ethernet cable. I’d rather use wireless and it turns me toward an Ethernet cable. Which, I also don’t have. Please please help.

You can try downloading the correct wlan drivers for your hp notebook from another pc ( be sure to enter the s/n and p/n of your affected notebook only) . Afterwards try transferring the downloaded file to the pc where the problem actually exists. Run the wlan driver file and restart upon completing the installation . It should work fine .
