Hi All,
My Windows 8 laptop was automatically updated with windows 10 even though it is not compatible - there are no compatible drivers available for my laptop for windows 10 (on the HP website). My laptop is currently using Intel Centrino Wireless -N 2230 network adapter, but i'm experiencing extremely fustrating problems with the wireless connectivity dropping out every minute or so as a result. I have to manually enable wireless or use the trouble shooter to get it to work again. Does anybody know of an alternative drivers i could use that would solve my connectivity issues please? Any help would be much appreciated as it's driving me bonkers!
Kind Regards
Nina

Hi:
Unfortunately, that seems to be a recurring issue with that card and W10.
You can try the latest driver from Intel and see if that helps any...
Otherwise, the only suggestion I can offer would be to replace the wireless card with one of these two alternatives..
If you have or plan to get an AC router...
Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 802.11 ac 2x2 WiFi + BT 4.0 HP Part # 710661-001
Dual band wireless N...
Intel Dual Band Wireless-N 7260AN 802.11 a/b/g/n 2x2 WiFi + BT4.0 HP Part # 717381-001
Not only will this eliminate the issue you are having, but you will also have the use of the 5.0 GHz wireless band on your router.
Both cards also have bluetooth capability as well.
Both cards are readily available on eBay or Amazon and don't cost very much at all.
Query by the HP part number, not by the model number of the wireless card.
The wireless card removal and replacement procedure can be found in the service manual, chapter 4, starting on page 57.

Should take less than 10 minutes to do.

Hi Paul,
Thanks ever so much for replying. I will try installing the latest driver from Intel first, and if that doesn't work, i'll try and replace the wireless card. Feeling confident that at least one of those will work, phew. I was on the verge of buying a new laptop as a result of the wireless issues, which would have been a shame as it's a relatively new and good laptop. Thanks again,
Kind Regards
Nina
