Hi,

I have some experience building DIY PC, but this is my first time to build a PC from Laptop.

I'm building custom pc from refurbishing HP ENVY x360 15-bq210nr motherboard.

I put 8x2 Ram, M.2 SSD, and LK03XL Laptop Battery on it, and it successfully boot to Windows 10.

I want to add a Wireless card for it, and I need more info:

1. Can I install NGFF Wireless card on this motherboard or it only accept PCI-e card?

2. Does HP put whitelist of wireless card that I can install on this device, so only specific Wireless card can installed?

Hi:

HP does not publish any info on what notebooks have whitelists.

Most of the whitelists were removed from all models in 2014 with a couple of exceptions.

I don't know if your has one or not. I would guess probably not.

The service manual (chapter 3) indicates that the model series can use either the Intel 7265 AC or the Realtek 8822 AC.

The Intel card is superior in all respects.

If you want to experiment with a faster card, you can try either the Intel 9260 AC non- vPro or the Intel AX 200 non-vPro.

Do not under any circumstance try the Intel 9560. That definitely won't work.

I have a HP notebook with the AMD Ryzen 4500 processor and it has the AX-200 non -vPro card in it.

I put Intel AX200 Wifi 6 card on it and works flawlessly.

I Compared it with USB Wifi Adapter Tp-Link TL-WN725N (use Realtek chip) , download speed seems twice faster.
