My wifi persistently disconnects and most of the time does an auto reset. I have tried many different suggestions to fix and nothing works. I would like to replace the adapter which is an Intel 7260 HMW either through an amazon purchase of another 7260 or an upgrade to an 8000/9000 series. When looking at product availability to replace with another 7260, nothing matches up to what I have. The ones online have a BD after the HMW (mine does not) and the WFM and BDM numbers are different. Some say half mini pci card while others may say pci express half mini or pcie. Confusing to me. Just want to replace what I have with same/same or equal replacement. Any suggestions/

You're very welcome.
I think they put that caveat in there because if you had a HP notebook from 2011 or earlier that uses the same form factor card, it would not work because those models had a BIOS whitelist which prevented any model Wi-Fi card from working other than the model that came with the PC, or maybe the various cards offered in the model series if it was a CTO model like yours where more than one model Wi-Fi card was offered.
But your PC was made beyond that era as was my 350 G1 and you should be able to install pretty much any model HMC wifi card you want.
I believe the Intel 7260 AC was the best HMC card offered at the time.
Now they have cards like this that were custom made.
I was tempted to buy one to upgrade the Intel 7260 in my HP 350 G1, but decided that since I hardly use the notebook, it wouldn't be worth it.

Hi:
The parts list for your PC indicates that it came with this Wi-Fi adapter/part number.
756053-001 | Wireless LAN - 11ac INT HMC 2x2 WP2NV(NMA) |
I could only find one seller for that specific part number, and it costs a fortune.
HP 784650-005 WLAN 802.11AC +BT4 2x2 7260 756053-001 | eBay
Your PC should not have a BIOS whitelist, so I recommend you try the common card that was used in most HP notebooks at the time:
Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 802.11 ac 2x2 WiFi + BT 4.0 HP Part # 710661-001

You're very welcome.
That can't be, since I have the exact same SPS number 7260AC Wi-Fi card in my HP 350 G1 notebook that did not originally come with that card.
I got mine on eBay because they cost less.
Says right on the listings they are for HP notebooks.
