Hi

My notebook hp15 er000 touch has Realtek RTL8852AE WiFi 6 802.11ax PCIe Adapter 2x1 (1200-600)

Can I add another antenna cable with the same card to have 2x2 mime or should I buy another network card?

thanks

Hi:

Doesn't the notebook already have two antenna wires connected to the RTL8852AE wifi card?

There could be two wires connected to a 1 x 1 Wi-Fi card.

The 2 x 2 and 1 x1 = the number of data streams up and down that the card can support.

Has nothing to do with the number of antenna wires that are connected to it.

You may want to open up the notebook and confirm that there is only one antenna wire.

I would be very surprised if you told me you found only one antenna wire.

This is the picture of the card your notebook has when I checked chapter 3 of the service manual:

Maintenance and Service Guide (hp.com)

M34029-005 HP Wireless LAN Card WLAN Realtel Ax 1X2 F 17-Cn0010Nr "GRADE A" | eBay

As you can see it has two antenna connectors.

Thank you so much.

That is, if I understood correctly, should I change it to an Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX201 802.11ax (2 × 2) as described in the pdf?

You're very welcome.

I guess I should have been more specific.

No Intel CNVI card has any chance of working in your notebook because the Intel AX201 will only work in a notebook that originally came with one of those cards and yours came with the Realtek card.

The Intel AX201 is a CNVI card.

None of the following cards on this link will work:

What Are the Intel® Integrated Connectivity (CNVi) and Companion...

I have even recommended to folks that had a notebook with an Intel AX201 and they wanted to upgrade to the AX211 Wifi6E card, that it wouldn't work, and should use the Intel AX210 non-CNVI card.

So, your best chance of having a different card work in your notebook is to install one of these two cards:

Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX200 ax 2×2 + Bluetooth 5.0 MU-MIMO M.2 2230 non-vPro    HP part #L35282-005.

Intel AX210 Wi-Fi 6E 2x2 AX + Bluetooth 5.2 M.2 2230 non-vPro   HP part # M27269-005.

You may want to open up the notebook to make sure it has two antenna wires before buying one of the Intel cards.

I am very sure it should.
