HP Pavilion g6 Notebook PC
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have a problem with the arrow-key's on my laptop. The arrow keys left and right are working good. On the other hand the keys up and down not. The left arrow-key is giving letters and the right one gives numbers.

When I turn off the WIFI-button all the arrow keys's are working normal. It looks like that on the right side of the notebook the keys pgup, pgdn, home and end have the same problem.

Could anybody tell me if this is a software or hardware problem and how to handle this problem ?

Thanks in advance !

Hello,

There are a few things we can do to determine if this is hardware or software related.

What is the exact model of Pavilion G6 you are using?

Hi There,

-> For this issue where the arrow keys are unresponsive or showing incorrect output, please run the Keyboard test in the UEFI diagnostic page

-> For this, please shut down the notebook and upon powering back on, keep tapping continuously on the F2 key.

-> This would take you to a diagnostic page

-> Plz select Component Test -> Keyboard.

-> do let us know what the keyboard test results in.

Cheers.

Thanks.

Start with these:

1.) HP Notebook System BIOS Update: https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/swdetails/hp-pavilion-g6-1200-notebook-pc-series/51...

2.)Intel Chipset Installation Utility and Driver: https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/swdetails/hp-pavilion-g6-1200-notebook-pc-series/51...

The links will show Windows 8.1 as being the operating system. At this time we do not offer Windows 10 as an option. However, these drivers will still be compatible with your system.

Let me know how those work!
