Envy 1745 and Hp Officejet 7610
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My HP laptop and Officejet printer are both visible on the network, my other computer can use the printer but not the Envy. The Envy can use it if plugged into it with USB. This is after being on a non-secure public network, it all worked prior to this. I'm thinking that there must be something in the network setup on the computer. When I try to connect to the printer using the install software after a long period a message comes up and says it can't communicate with printer.

@Banderso, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

  • Make sure the printer and the MAC are connected to the same wireless network.
  • This printer supports only 2.4GHz network.
  • The printer will not work on a public network, make sure you are using a private network.

To check the connectivity between the printer and the PC,

  1. Obtain the IP address of the printer – You can touch the “wireless” icon on the printer control panel to obtain the IP address.
  2. Type the IP address at the top of your web browser to obtain the printer EWS page on your computer.
  3. If you get any security notification, click on show details and 'proceed to this website'.
  4. Go to Tools > print a Test page.

Keep me posted for further assistance.
