Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi ,

Currently my HP laptop 15 DA-0077TX have a Realtek RTL8723DE 802.11 B/G/N PCIe wireless Adaptor which support only 2.4 GHz . I am not able to connect to my router with 5 GHz band width with the current adaptor . So i want to upgrade my wireless N adaptor with dual band.

Is  Intel® Dual Band Wireless-N 7265 compactable  in 15  DA 0077tx. Can i replace this one.

Regards

Vinu

Hi:

You can, but you will not have any Bluetooth since the Intel 7265 needs two wifi antenna cables to work, and yours only has one.

The only card you can upgrade to as a direct swap is this one...

Realtek RTL8821CE 802.11 ac 1x1 WiFi + Bluetooth 4.2 Combo Adapter (MU-MIMO supported) HP part # L17365-005.

You can find this model on eBay.

https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_nkw=L17365-005&_sacat=0&_sop=15

The card has the same throughput as the RTL8723DE card on the 2.4 GHz wifi band, but on the 5.0 GHz wifi band with an AC router, it has a maximum throughput of 433 MBPS.

Here is the link to the service manual for your notebook, where you can find the wifi card removal and replacement procedure.
