can sim be worked in laptop 840 g6

my laptop is hp 840 g6.it has a sim slot.i have inserted a sim but it is not working.can i use sim card in my laptop if yes please tell me how i can use it???

A SIM card won't work without the optional WWAN adapter that is needed in order to connect to a cellular service.

That was an expensive option and very few 840 g6's came with a WWAN adapter.

In order to connect to a cellular network your notebook must have one of the following WWAN adapters present and working in the Windows device manager under the Network Adapters device manager category.

Intel XMM 7360 LTE

Intel XMM 7560 LTE

Intel XMM 7262 LTE-

I am sure you will find that your notebook does not have any of those devices.

Chapter 3 has the list of the 3 supported WWAN adapters with their HP part numbers.

You can find, buy and install one of those adapters but before you do, open up your notebook and make sure the antenna wires are present to connect to the WWAN card.

The WWAN card removal and replacement procedure can be found in chapter 5.
