Hi,

I'm having trouble getting the WWAN connection to work. All drivers appear to be installed correctly, and Device Manager shows the HP 5G Sub-6 Cat19 device as present. However, the event log reports the following error:

Device PCI\VEN_14C3&DEV_4D75&SUBSYS_8D39103C&REV_01\4&2d512dd&0&00E0 had a problem starting.

Driver Name: oem84.inf
Class Guid: {4d36e972-e325-11ce-bfc1-08002be10318}
Service: WwanNet(M80)
Lower Filters:
Upper Filters:
Problem: 0x0
Problem Status: 0xC00000E5

Additional Observations:

Running netsh mbn show interface returns: There is no Mobile Broadband interface.

Control Panel shows a Cellular connection, but it cannot be enabled.

The Settings > Network & Internet section does not display any cellular option.

During OSD task driver installation, a popup appeared for cellular flashing service.exe (or similar). The setup was not completed due to COM-port restrictions. Could the flashing process have potentially bricked the WWAN module?

Are there any tools available to check the hardware and firmware status of the device?

Driver Used:

HP 5G Sub-6 Cat19 and HP 4G Cat19 Drivers

System Software Manager Icon 1.0.0.27 Rev.A (sp161745.exe)

Hi Tuomas-87,

I am having the same issue with the same driver version.

Have you found a workaround ?

Device Manager also shows the HP 5G Sub-6 Cat19 device as present and correctly working. But Device Manager refreshes the device list every ~10 seconds, this is not a normal behavior.

The WAN interface is not displayed in Settings > Network and Internet, and Control panel > Network connections shows  a disabled Cellular interface. This interface stays disabled event when Enable is clicked.

Uninstalling/reinstalling the driver did not change anything.

Device : HP EliteBook G1I 14 (I configured 50 of these devices, only one has the issue).
