I can't use sim card on my HP Elitebook 840 G4. even when I tried to install the driver, it said installation failed. please help me, I have attached the installation screenshot. thank youScreenshot (80).png

Your notebook must be missing the optional WWAN adapter that is needed to connect to a cellular network.

 

Probably 90% of Elitebooks don't have that optional adapter as it was an expensive option.

 

All the SIM card does is authorize you to use your specific cellular provider's network.

 

In order for the SIM card to do anything your notebook must have one of the following WWAN adapters present and working under the Network adapters device manager category:

 

HP lt4120 LTE/EVDO/HSPA+ 
Huawei HP It4132 - LTE/HSPA+ 
Fibocom HP hs3210 WW HSPA+
