HP Envy 360. Had it for maybe 5 mos. Whether plugged in or on battery, the wifi connection drops, loses site of any wifi networks in the house. No other pc in the house has this issue. if we connect to a LAN, the pc has no problems.

Hi @fudgebrownie,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP Envy x360 is frequently losing Wi-Fi connections, there could be several potential causes ranging from software issues to hardware problems. Here’s a comprehensive troubleshooting guide to help resolve the issue:

**1. Update Wi-Fi Drivers

  • Check for Updates:
    1. Open Device Manager: Right-click the Start button and select Device Manager.
    2. Update Driver: Expand Network adapters, right-click your Wi-Fi adapter, and select Update driver. Choose Search automatically for updated driver software.
    3. Visit Manufacturer's Website: For the latest drivers, visit the HP website or the Wi-Fi adapter manufacturer's website.

**2. Check Power Management Settings

  • Adjust Power Settings:
    1. Open Device Manager: Right-click the Start button and select Device Manager.
    2. Power Management: Expand Network adapters, right-click your Wi-Fi adapter, and select Properties. Go to the Power Management tab and uncheck Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power.
    3. Adjust Power Plan: Go to Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Power Options. Click on Change plan settings next to your selected plan, then Change advanced power settings. Expand Wireless Adapter Settings and set Power Saving Mode to Maximum Performance.

**3. Forget and Reconnect to Wi-Fi Network

  • Forget Network:
    1. Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Wi-Fi.
    2. Click Manage known networks, select your Wi-Fi network, and click Forget.
    3. Reconnect to the network by selecting it from the available networks and entering the password.

**4. Check Router and Network Settings

  • Restart Router: Power cycle your router by unplugging it, waiting 30 seconds, and plugging it back in.
  • Update Router Firmware: Check your router manufacturer’s website for firmware updates and apply them if available.
  • Wi-Fi Channel Interference: Use your router’s settings to switch to a less crowded Wi-Fi channel (usually accessed through the router’s web interface).

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
