I HOPE someone responds because nobody answers questions about printers ...

I want to disable permanently the ms virtual direct wi fi and I have disabled it in the device manager.

HOWEVER ...

there is a one and a #2. I did disable one of them, and the arrow or icon on it points down. I don't know if the other is working.

I don't use this, I don't want the headache of anyone using my wi fi, PLEASE nobody tells owners about this stupid MS S*** and I am sure someone has used it because settings on my notebook have been changed and I see odd things in my computer network that are not mine and not in the router.

ANYWAY I read a very old post 2019 and it said use settings/ Projecting to this PC so I did and the area is grayed out.

It also says, "always off recommended"

and this in red at the top "this device doesn't support  receiving miracast  so you can't project to it wirelessly."

WHAT does that mean? I guess it is off, but I would really like to be sure nobody else can trigger it on.

Would that mean I should delete it? Uninstall it? Those are my options in the device manager.

In the settings under projcting to pc it is off and I did that in device manager, disabling it. (but there were two)

I also found online some instructions to disable it in the registry but I tried following that and my registry didn't line up with what that person said. I forget that website.

Trying to find updated info is a bear and getting anyone to answer such pedestrian questions from Microsoft is another b****h.

thanks for all your help, I appreciate it. This idea of a virtual hot spot is not a good idea and MS has done some really stupid stuff lately.
