There are only two supported wifi adapters listed in chapter 3.

 

Broadcom BCM943142 802.11 bgn 1×1 Wi-Fi + Bluetooth 4.0 M.2 Combo Adapter        792608-005

 

Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7265 802.11 ac 2×2 WiFi + Bluetooth 4.0 Combo Adapter 793840-005

 

Since HP does not provide any information on what notebooks may have a BIOS whitelist, no one here can tell you if the Intel 9260 AC wifi card will work.

 

It will fit in the wifi card slot, and the only thing you need to know if you want to experiment with the Intel 9260 is to make sure that you buy the non-vPro version of the card.
