Hi im trying to connect my laptop to a 5ghz connection but it wont let me can anyone help please

According to the specs it comes with a 802.11b/g/n (1x1) Wi-Fi® and Bluetooth® 4.2 combo wifi adapter, which means it is a single band (2.4 GHz only) wifi adapter.

 

I'm I'm not mistaken it is probably a Realtek RTL8723DE model.

 

Your only option would be to replace the internal wifi card with a dual band one, or purchase a USB dual band wifi adapter.

 

If you want to replace the internal card, you can get this one...

 

This card works with one antenna cable.

 

Realtek RTL8821CE 802.11 ac 1x1 WiFi + Bluetooth 4.2 Combo Adapter (MU-MIMO supported) HP part # L17365-005.

 

The only place I have been able to find this model is on eBay.

The card has the same throughput as the RTL8723 on the 2.4 GHz wifi band, but on the 5.0 GHz wifi band with an AC router, it has a maximum throughput of 433 MBPS.

 

On a dual band wireless N router, it would have a maximum throughput of 150 MBPS on the 5.0 GHz wifi band.
