Unless you have a dv6-7xxx model series, you cannot upgrade the Wi-Fi adapter due to the BIOS whitelist on the dv6-6xxx and older model series.

You would need to purchase a USB dual band Wi-Fi adapter for the older dv6 models.

I have a DV6-6154NR

Can you provide me with the correct number to order for this laptop and the best place to purchase it?

thanks

You're very welcome.

As I had mentioned in my first reply, the dv6-6xxx model series of which the dv6-6154nr model is a part of, has a BIOS whitelist.

The whitelist blocks the installation of any model Wi-Fi card other than the one that came with your notebook from working.

Your only option for better Wi-Fi performance would be to purchase a USB dual band Wi-Fi adapter of your choosing.
