looking for a dual mode 2.4/5 ghz wireless adapter for this hp pavillion 17 notebook

Hi:

 

In order for a dual band wifi card to work correctly in your model, you would have to first open up the PC and confirm that there are two wireless antenna cables connected to the wifi card in there now.

 

If there is only one, then you will either have lousy reception with the dual band wifi card or the wifi will work but not the Bluetooth, or visa versa depending on what antenna terminal you attach the single cable to.

 

I'm thinking your notebook only has one.

 

Below is the link to the service manual if you want to open it up and let me know what you find...
