Hi @fridmandima77

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like you're experiencing some frustrating issues with your new laptop while trying to edit videos. Let’s go through a few troubleshooting steps to help identify and resolve the problems.

1. Check System Requirements

  • Ensure that your laptop meets the minimum system requirements for Filmora Wondershare 14. If the hardware is insufficient, it could lead to freezing and performance issues.

2. Update Software

  • Make sure Filmora and your operating system are up to date. Sometimes updates fix bugs and improve performance.

3. Free Up Disk Space

  • Remove Unnecessary Files: Use Disk Cleanup (search for it in the Start menu) to clear temporary files.
  • Delete Unused Programs: Go to Settings > Apps and uninstall any programs you don’t use.

4. Check for Background Processes

  • Open Task Manager (Ctrl + Shift + Esc) to see what processes are running and how much CPU and memory they are using.
  • If you see any programs consuming a lot of resources, consider closing them while you’re using Filmora.

5. Adjust Filmora Settings

  • In Filmora, lower the preview quality settings. This can help reduce the strain on your system while editing.

6. Update Drivers

  • Ensure your graphics and audio drivers are up to date. Visit the laptop manufacturer’s website for the latest drivers.

7. Check for Malware

  • Run a scan using Windows Defender or any reputable antivirus software to check for malware that could be affecting performance.

8. Check Storage Usage

  • Use File Explorer to check which folders are taking up space. Look in the Downloads, Pictures, and other folders to see if there are large files you can delete.

9. Perform System Maintenance

  • Run a disk check to find and fix file system errors:
    • Open Command Prompt as an administrator and type chkdsk /f and press Enter. You may need to restart your laptop for this to complete.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
