Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

This is a brand new hp laptop and have no problems keeping Wi-Fi connection when open and using, but if I close lid and it goes into sleep mode, most of the time when I reopen it to start using it has lost the wi-fi connection and I have to restart to get it back, don't know what is happening.

You have to keep it up during sleep. Please try:

   (a) Open Device Manager,

   (b) Locate Network adapters, Wifi adapter

   (c) Right click and select Properties

   (d) Go to Power Management and remove tick as shown

   (e) Click Apply/Ok

Note: I keep tick on my machine.

Regards.

When I went to properties, there is no power management option, but thank you for the try.
