Product: HP Envy Touchsmart 15 laptop
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

Model number 15-j073cl, Has Atheros AR5b125 wifi card in from new, Does not see 5g. Would like to upgrade.

Hi Lee:

 

You have two options for an upgrade...

 

Dual band AC:  best performance, but costs a little more than dual band N.

 

Broadcom BCM4352 802.11ac 2x2 Wi-Fi + Bluetooth 4.0 combo   HP part # 724935-001

 

Broadcom BCM943228HMB WiDi 802.11 a/b/g/n 2x2 Wi-Fi + Bluetooth 4.0 combo   HP part # 730668-001

 

You should be able to find either card on eBay in used but tested and working condition.

 

Search by the HP part number, not the model of the wifi card.
