mouse wont work

Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have a HP spectre 700 wireless mouse that will not work even though my Spectre laptop tells me it is connected and ready this happens frequently I have tried to change the port, reconnect the device, turned on and off but still the mouse refuses to work
