Hi @deep_dee8980,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your laptop's Wi-Fi cannot connect to any device or hotspot but an Ethernet connection works, here are some steps to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:

1. Check Wi-Fi Status and Settings

Verify Wi-Fi is Enabled:

  • Wi-Fi Switch: Ensure the physical Wi-Fi switch (if available) on your laptop is turned on.
  • Function Key: Press the appropriate function key (e.g., Fn + F2) that toggles Wi-Fi on or off.

Check Airplane Mode:

  • Turn Off Airplane Mode: Make sure airplane mode is turned off. You can usually find this setting in the system tray or under network settings.

2. Restart Devices

Restart Laptop:

  • Reboot: Restart your laptop to refresh network settings.

Restart Router/Hotspot:

  • Power Cycle: Turn off your router or hotspot, wait for about 30 seconds, and turn it back on.

3. Forget and Reconnect to Network

Forget Network:

  • Windows 10/11: Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Wi-Fi > Manage known networks, select the network, and click Forget.

Reconnect:

  • Reconnect: After forgetting the network, try reconnecting by selecting the network from the available list and entering the password.

4. Update Network Drivers

Check Device Manager:

  • Open Device Manager: Right-click the Start button and select Device Manager.
  • Update Driver: Expand Network adapters, right-click on your Wi-Fi adapter, and select Update driver. Choose Search automatically for updated driver software.

Reinstall Driver:

  • Uninstall and Reinstall: If updating doesn’t help, right-click the Wi-Fi adapter and select Uninstall device. Restart your laptop, and Windows will attempt to reinstall the driver.

5. Check Network Settings

Network Troubleshooter:

  • Run Troubleshooter: Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot > Additional troubleshooters, and select Internet Connections to run the troubleshooter.
  • Check Settings: Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Change adapter options. Right-click on your Wi-Fi network, select Properties, then double-click Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4). Ensure Obtain an IP address automatically and Obtain DNS server address automatically are selected.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
