I have a HP Pavilion 15.6 inch Laptop PC 15-eh1000 (2H5A7AV)
At various random times the network (WiFi) just drops, and I get an error "you are not connected" from windows and the WiFi Icon is replaced with the globe.
the laptop does not have ethernet port
I do have a VPN installed for when I am on public network when traveling. But the problem does not seem to be connected to use / non-use of the VPN
SOMETIMES rebooting will fix
If reboot does not fix then Settings-->Network--->Advanced "reset network" will correct.
