Welcome to the HP Community --
Without the WWAN module installed in the computer, the SIM card is useless.
SIM card cannot connect you to your Mobile service without a means to connect to your Mobile account.
You need both WWAN module hardware and the little SIM card that allows you to connect to your provider's service.
The Maintenance and Service Guide does not mention WWAN module as available for this computer model / series.
