Trying to connect to network. It says "type your credentials" What's that mean???

To assist you better I'll need few details

 

Are you trying to connect through Wireless or through the Ethernet?

 

Do you have other devices that connect to your Network? Are you connecting to your Home Network or a Public Network?

I'm trying to get wireless connection. I called my provider. Spent 2 hourse, and he and I discovered I don't have CHROME and he said all computers need to have that. Why isn't that on my laptop? I could have gone with a cheaper laptop [Acer], and that had chrome on it.

That is a wrong information given. You can use any other browser like Edge or Firefox to browser. 

 

May I know how are you trying to connect? Where do you get the box to enter the credentials. If possible try sending me a picture
