unable to pair a Bose bluetooth to my HP windows 7 laptop

Pavilion dv6-6c 13cl entertain
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

went to adding devices and couldn't get laptop to recognize the Bose bluetooth which was ready to pair. Do I need to download something to do this? Please make answers simple; I'm not a computer expert.

It would help if you provided a more specific identification of the device besides a "Bose bluetooth device".

Please provide the model  and part number here in your thread.

Have you gone to Bose to download the bluetooth stack that the device requires?

YOu didn't say to make the questions simple. ;)

I liked your question...It's a Bose Soundlink Color ll - I bought it in January of this year so is new. Except for the serial number that's about all the info I have.

I took a look at the specs of your Pavilion dv6-6c13cl notebook.  see the following link.

http://support.hp.com/rs-en/document/c03128354

Most examples of your notebook were not delivered with a Bluetooth adapter.

You can purchase a usb  bluetooth dongle to use with it.

See the USB bluetooth dongles at NewEgg.com

https://www.newegg.com/Network-Bluetooth/SubCategory/ID-295?Tpk=bluetooth%20dongle

That is quite likely to be the reason that you cannot pair with your notebook.

Have you read through the pdf manual?

It explains how to pair by use of voice prompts.

Here is a link to the manual.

Here is a link to the online product troubleshooting at Bose.

You may need to connect the device to your notebook or PC and use the Bose System updater.
