upgrading wireless adapter card

HP Pavilion 17 inch Notebook - Product # P1A76UA#ABA

Looking to upgrade my wifi adapter. I currently had the RealTek RTL8188EE 802.11 b/g/n wifi adapter. This does not pick up the 5GHz side of my network. What adapter card can I replace this with? Thanks!

Hi:

You should be able to upgrade your current wifi card to this model...

Realtek RTL8821CE 802.11 ac 1x1 WiFi + Bluetooth 4.2 Combo Adapter (MU-MIMO supported) HP part # L17365-005.

You can find this model on eBay, or the HP parts store.

The card has the same throughput as the RTL8188EE card on the 2.4 GHz wifi band, but on the 5.0 GHz wifi band with an AC router, it has a maximum throughput of 433 MBPS.

Below is the link to the service manual, where you can find the wifi card removal and replacement procedure...
