Desktop Wireless and Networking

Hello HP Community,

I’ve been experiencing frequent Wi-Fi drops with my Realtek RTL8822CE 802.11ac PCIe Adapter.

The connection shows 100% signal strength, but it often freezes for a few seconds or drops completely. In Task Manager → Performance → Wi-Fi, the Send and Receive rate suddenly drops to 0 Kbps and then goes up again.

I have already tried:

  • Updating the driver via Device Manager (still the same result)

  • Switching between 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz Wi-Fi bands

  • Disabling power-saving mode for the adapter

  • Restarting router (no effect)

Details:

  • Adapter: Realtek RTL8822CE 802.11ac PCIe Adapter

  • Band: 5 GHz (Channel 157)

  • Radio Type: 802.11n (not 802.11ac)

  • Driver version: 2024.10.228.9

Could HP please provide the latest stable driver for RTL8822CE for my model?
Also, is there any firmware or BIOS update that helps improve the Wi-Fi stability for this chipset?

Thank you!

I Installed it and did a restart and after I did a restart on fast.com my speed was 400 mbps and it instantly dropped to 20 mbps. Not maintaining that speed at all.
