Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have a new Notebook that is running Window 10 with the A6 AMD processor and it has the Realtek RTL8723DE wifi 802.1 chip. I have tested the wifi speed and it is very very slow. When I connect with the ethernet cable it is very fast 142 Mbps. when I remove the ethernet cable and use the wifi 802.11n  2.4Ghz on Channel 11 I get 3.8 Mbps download. I have check the driver on the HP site and I have the latest version 10/22/2018 ver. 2024.0.3.103. I have other laptops in the house which run much faster. I have a strong signal as well.

Please help!!

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

I appreciate your efforts to try and resolve the issue. I have a few troubleshooting steps we could try to fix the issue:

Firstly, let's Update network adapter drivers through Device Manager

Installing the latest wireless LAN adapter driver can resolve common issues with the wireless Internet connection. Use Device Manager to find the latest WLAN driver.

  1. In Windows, search for and open Device Manager.
  2. Double-click Network adapters, right-click the name of the Wireless Adapter, then select Update Driver Software.
  3. Click Search automatically for updated driver software.
  4. If an updated driver is found, follow the instructions to install it.

Try connecting to the Internet again. If there is still a problem continue to the next step.

Update the BIOS (notebook PCs): Follow steps from the link: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c00042629

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
