Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds frustrating when your printer doesn't behave as expected. Let's try to resolve this issue together. Here are a few steps you can follow to ensure your HP ENVY Inspire 7255e uses the photo tray when printing photos from NCH PhotoPad:
✅ Method 1: Set Photo Tray via Printer Properties (Before Printing)
- In PhotoPad, click Print.
- In the Print dialog, click Preferences or Printer Properties next to your selected printer.
- In the HP Printing Preferences window:
- Paper Source: Change to Photo Tray.
- Paper Type: Set to HP Photo Paper or a similar option.
- Paper Size: Set to 4x6" or 5x7" (depending on the photo tray size).
- Print Quality: Set to Best.
- Click OK, then proceed to print.
⚠️ Note: If there's no "Photo Tray" option available, consider updating your printer driver.
✅ Method 2: Use HP Smart App for Photo Printing (Recommended)
The HP Smart app is optimized for handling paper source switching, making it a reliable choice for photo printing.
- Open HP Smart on your PC.
- Click Print Photos and select your image.
- Tap Print Settings (gear icon).
- Set the following:
- Paper Source: Photo Tray
- Paper Size: 4x6" or 5x7"
- Paper Type: Photo
- Print from there.
This method usually succeeds where other apps like PhotoPad may fail.
✅ Method 3: Check Printer Firmware & Driver
- Go to HP Support.
- Enter your model: HP ENVY Inspire 7255e.
- Download the latest firmware and full feature software/driver package.
- Reboot your PC and printer.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
