Shift Key Does Not Capitalize Characters. Shift key does not work correctly. The Shift key cannot be used to capitalize characters when typing on the notebook keyboard. This occurs when typing the characters quickly.

A BIOS update for the Keyboard Battery Controller (KBC) was to be released to resolve this problem. has it been released??

Well we do not have your exact model number to check the BIOS releases but if you know your model install your latest BIOS. It would include any update to the Keyboard controller firmware.

HP ENVY m6-1115tx Notebook PC

And where would I get the Bios update?

Would it not have update automatically on one of the updates that has been made since I bought the computer?

Thanks!

Yes, my version of bios was F.25 from back in 2013, will update now with the link you supplied.  But, my computer just went through an update phase and did not update this bios problem.  Why is that?

I don't see anything in any of the BIOS updates which is supposed to address a Keyboard Controller issue. They do strongly recommend F.26 but for other reasons.

That's strange, because my initial post was cut and pasted from the HP site

- it was the answer to my query

I will let you know if F.26 BIOS update fixed the problem I was experiencing, in any case...

I am hoping it will. I am going to escalate this and get an official response.
