Thank you verry much!

I am thinking of replacing CPU by myself.. Any new CPU works with compaq presario cq61 or do I need some specific ?

Hi @patrik13,

 

 

I understand you are considering replacing the CPU yourself. 

Here is a link to the Compaq Presario CQ61 Notebook PC and HP G61 Notebook PC Maintenance and Service Guide. Please note chapter 3, page 4, item 10 for a list of recommended replacement processors (CPUs).

I took my laptop to a local PC shop and they said that 99% that this is a CPU problem..:)

Hi @patrik13,

 

 

Thank you again.  To assist others more effectively would you remove the solution provided on my last reply and post it on message 10 where I stated that 1 blink indicated the CPU as it does highlight the solution post which allows other posters to see the relative information.
