Battery Not Charging - HP Envy 15

HP Envy 15 G6T85UA
Microsoft Windows 8 (64-bit)

We have an HP Envy 15 model G6T85UA #ABA notebook that is recieving a "Not Charging" message for the battery. I have run the HP Assistance and the CMOS battery check and both say they pass.  The power adapter powers the laptop fine and I can use the laptop.  I have installed all of the latest windows updates and I have updated the BIOS.  I have uninstalled the Battery and Power adapter drivers and rebooted. I have tried several different plugs in my house and still have the problem.  I have turned the laptop off overnight and let the battery charge but it fails to charge.

When I run the HP assistant batter check the "Not Charging" message is changed to "Charging" but then goes back to "Not Charging" after a few minutes.

The battery is not removable unless I take the bottom off the laptop.

What do I do next?

Thanks,

Michael

Battery Not Charging - HP Envy 15

Hi @MBancale,

As I Understand the laptop is plugged into the adapter/charger but it doesn't charge or power on anymore,

Don't worry, though, as I have a few steps listed below that should help you resolve this concern:

Unplug the charge and use the laptop until the battery drains to 15%.

Turn off the laptop and turn it back on after 30mins.

Reinstalled Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery under device manager,

Restart the computer and the issue should be fixed.

Also, Go through them all and let me know what you have determined is causing the issue. The first document has the most relevant troubleshooting if your battery appears to be not charging.
