HP Recommended

Battery charges for 2 minutes stops. Have to reinsert jack to continue

Pavilion dm4-3098se Beats Edit
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

HP assistant detected the battery was failing, it never charged above 95%

I bought a new battery and the HP Assistant detects the same fault.

It charges for a few mintues then the laptop runs off the battery. 

If I pull out the AVC jack and reinsert it starts charging again.

Repeat....

If I run the laptop without the battery the laptop shuts down after two minutes.

Power charger is not on the recall list, but writing this makes me think that is the isuue

Help?

HP Support assistant doesn’t show the correct battery charge status. Is that right?
