Welcome to the HP forums! It is a great way to engage, post questions and find resolutions by working with specialists in the HP community.
As I understand the laptop is plugged into the adapter/charger ut it doesn't charge completely. I'll be really happy to assist you with this.
Don't worry, though, as I have a few steps listed below that should help you resolve this concern:
Unplug the charge and use the laptop until the battery drains to 15%.
Turn off the laptop and turn it back on after 30mins.
Reinstalled Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery under device manager,
Restart the computer and the issue should be fixed.
Here are the steps:
Click on the Start Button
Type "Device Manager" in the start search box & open the Device Manager
Look for Batteries and expand it by click on the + symbol on the left
Right Click on "Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery" & uninstall
Please Shutdown the Notebook
Please remove the Battery and unplug the Power Adapter
Press and Hold the Power Button for full 1 Minute
Go ahead and put back the Battery and connect the Power Adapter
Look for "Plugged In Charging" message on the Battery icon
Also, Go through them all and let me know what you have determined is causing the issue. The first document has the most relevant troubleshooting if your battery appears to be not charging.
