Is the notebook still in warranty?

Check your warranty status Here.

The warranty covers main battery replacement without cost to you.

The only thing you have to supply is the box to safely ship it to the HP service center.

HP will arrange for the shipping of your notebook. This does work, I had to use it for my 15 year old daughter's notebook last year and she had it back in her hands within two weeks.

Copy all important information to an external storage device before you send it.  Once that is done, you can remove any personal information form your notebook.

OK.

Sorry to hear that.

Then you will need to have the current battery replaced with a new one by a PC or notebook shop.
