I installed Windows 10 on my mSata ssd - a Samsung 850 Evo 250 gb - and updated the BIOS before putting the hdd back in, but it doesn't boot when both are present (only mSata boots). Questions:

- Is it because the hdd contains the primary partition of the old config?

- Do I have to format the old one? I still haven't tried with a new hdd.

- Do I have to modify something in the BIOS settings?

- Have you modified the RAID settings?

Thanks in advance. The Samsung mSata is incredibly fast and if I can use the previous hdd as secondary too it would be very nice.

I had formatted my hdd before putting it back in. I thik you have to do that because the old one has uefi boot partition on it.

You should not have any raid configurations enabled.

I actually found  that if you enter bios after doing the process, it will disrupt all the changes and will not boot from msata.  So my solution works only if you don't touch anything.

My recomendation is to use a bigger ssd or to buy an hdd enclosure and use it like that. At least until we get a solution from HP (it will never happen).
