new laptop...during set up I got to entering Microsoft password. Screen went blank/black & audio navigation came on. Cannot get anything on screen except boxes/rectangle boxes when I tab...

Step 1: Boot the computer normally and log-in.

 

Step 2: At the black screen, old down the ctrl and alt keys and press delete.

 

Step 3: Select Task Manager.

 

Step 4: Click on File and select Run new task.

 

Step 5: Type rstrui - also enter a tick in the box for 'Create this task with administrative privileges' - and click Ok.

 

When the system restore interface has loaded, pick a restore point at least 72 hours before the log-on issue first occurred and then proceed with the system restore.
