Black screen on power up, led flash once every 2 sec

HP Recommended
Pavilion dv7-1245dx
Microsoft Windows Vista (64-bit)
When turned on, black screen, caps lock and led above number pad blink once every 2 seconds. Pulled battery and AC plug, pressed power button for 2 minutes then plugged AC plug in...same thing

I grasp that on startup you get a black screen and the Caps Lock and and led above the Num Lock blinks every 2 seconds.
